Hello, reader of this blog! I'm Maddie, the creator and writer of this blog and the content within it. I am a passionate user of the Internet, yet I am from a generation that both remembers growing up in a world without constantly being tethered to some sort of communication device, and then later in life, can't get away from them. And not going to lie, I love it. I love the discourse that surrounds the 'social media generation' and the 'generation that grew up with the Internet'. The Internet has been a hobby for me for over a decade now, and with it an endless fascination for the culture that stems from being online and in online communities.

 

I had the unforunate 'Eureka!' moment when I decided to create a portmanteau of the two thing this blog centers around; the Internet, and discourses that surround it that are both created by society and by Internet users themselves. That's right, I was [   ] this close to naming this blog 'Intercourse'. I guess we could say that I started off strong and it's only uphill from here, so stick around :)
